GENTLE / THERAPEUTIC:

The gentle class is a  restorative class.   It is perfect for peole with injuries, older students, larger body types and people suffering from fibromyalgia. Chairs are available for those who find it difficult to sit on the floor. EVERYONE is accomodated in this class.

The gentle / therapeutic class will have the added factor of being geared toward students with Multiple Sclerosis.  The room will be kept cooler than other scheduled classes.  Warming series such as sun salutations will NOT be part of the routine.  Call the studio to ask more questions of Joy, who will be leading this class.

BASICS:
Classes are specifically for beginners, people who want a less rigorous class, have injuries or are elderly. This class includes gentle stretches and breathing as well as simple movements to systematically increase the range of motion in joints.

INTERMEDIATE:
An intermediate yoga class focusing on more advanced pranayama (breath work), sun salutations, refining standing postures, twists, gentle back bending and preparation for inversions. The "theme" intermediate class on Mondays focuses on a specific posture or series of postures for that class. Call for the theme that week.

ADVANCED:
Chant, invert, jump around...a challenging (yet "do-able") yoga class working on more advanced versions of the postures learned in Basics and Intermediate. Full inversions are explored and more advanced pranayama. Don't be afraid to try this class. There is no pressure to try anything in which your body (or mind) might not be comfortable.

COMMUNITY CLASS:
An all-levels class for the financially challenged. A small fee of seven dollars is charged (no checks please).

ALL LEVELS:
A class geared toward everyone.  Advanced students won't be bored and beginning students won't run away in terror.  Kinda like Baby Bear Yoga...just right!

PRENATAL YOGA:
Designed for specifications and limitations of the expectant mothers body and the precautions needed to be taken to benefit fully from their yoga practice.

POSTNATAL YOGA:

This class is designed for mothers to get reaquainted with their new bodies while bonding with their little one. Yoga postures will focus upon rebuilding core strength in the abdomen and pelvic floor muscles and releasing tension in the neck and shoulders from carrying your babe/breast feeding. This class is also a great way to create community with other Moms.

Please call to register for a six week series.

FULL MOON YOGA:
In Hatha Yoga, “ha” is the sun and “tha” is the moon.  The sun salute brings appreciation to the new day by energizing us.  The moon salute cools, calms and closes the day with restorative poses.  This yin practice is a perfect compliment to your regular yang practice.  Rae Minten will be teaching this class.

Day: Third Mondays (‘Moon Days’) of the month
Dates: 1/21, 2/18 & 3/17
Time: 7:20-8:50pm

A workshop will be offered on 4/21 from 7:20-9:45pm. Please visit the website for more details.
